  My father worked here at least over 30 yrs ago when he lived here and I will make it a plan to visit this church one day

  My family and I went to this church for a few years when I was a child. I make it a point to visit anytime I'm visiting family in MD. I love my church home in Fayetteville NC (Berean Baptist Church) and I always feel so sad whenever I miss a service due to illness or being out of town. Long Green has really been a "home church away from home church" place for me. I really get fed biblical meat while there, which is difficult to find these days. I leave feeling re-energized to be used for God's purposes and experience personal growth in my Christian walk after visitng Long Green. Seeing what God is doing in this church is such a blessing. The preaching is very well done and very biblically grounded. I actually learn something I didn't know before. Pastor Dale is a very gracious teacher and preacher. He always unpacks the texts in a way where God's agenda is what matters, Pastor Dale doesn't just pick a topic and insert segments of the text where he sees fit like many would do in sermons. You get all the context and learn the theology behind the message, which then frames subsequent ideologies and 21st century application. It's such a wonderful balance of expository preaching and appropriate topical references. The Sunday School class I attended was also extremely exciting for me because it was not all over the place where people rabbit trail into different directions. It was a time of biblical instruction with the flexibility to ask and answer questions and thoughts. One thing that I really loved was how much magnifying God's glory was emphasized, and understanding all OT scripture in light of the gospel, pointing to Christ. If you're not growing in the church you're currently attending, definitely consider Long Green.
